Our Partnership with Water Mission

The Women of Hope have chosen Water Mission, a mission partner of the NALC, as an outreach project. Our women's organization is dedicated to helping those who do not have access to clean safe drinking water. There are more than 2 billion people worldwide who do not have access to clean, safe drinking water. Through our gifts to Water Mission we are trying to do our part to help alleviate the water shortage crises.

The following is an excerpt a letter we recently received from Water Mission:

​

"Thank you again for your partnership and for believing all people should have access to safe water. You're saving and transforming lives.

​

Aurelia is a perfect example of a life you've helped transform. Many people in rural Tanzanian communities spend hours walking from their mud and straw houses to water sources, there they gather dirty, contaminated water.

 

When you helped us bring a safe water project to Aurelia's community, everything changed for her and her family. Access to safe water freed them from the challenges of waterborne illnesses, they no longer had to walk for hours to get water, and it gave them access to water they could use to make bricks. Aurelia and her neighbors are healthier and can now use those brick to build more substantial home to protect their families.

 

Aurelia states, "' We've built a house with bricks we could make with the tap water. The best houses have many benefits. They are so secure that if there are rains or sun, our family will be secure. Even if it rains a lot, we have a sturdy house -- the best house-- so our family is safe."'

 

Thank you again for caring, giving hope and making a difference for families like Aurelia's. And so many more. You're a blessing to us and to those we serve.
